Doctors Must Call for an End to Genocide

More testimonies from doctors working in Gaza:

Dr Maynard with the caption "I saw the most appalling atrocities."

This is a video of Dr Nick Maynard, who has worked in Gaza several times, talking about a child he will never forget who was badly burned and had no chance of survival. He adds that she died in pain because there was no morphine to give her. She died on the floor of the hospital because there were no beds.

There is no morphine because Israel is blocking medical supplies. The Ministry of Health issues daily reports on the health situation, and for months there has been a severe shortage of staff, beds and medical supplies (including anaesthetics, intravenous fluids and painkillers).

Although delivering morphine is necessary it isn't enough according to Rachel Coghlan et al:

We must expose and remediate these root causes of suffering by advocating for an immediate end to the genocidal violence perpetrated against the Palestinian people. Such acknowledgment and action is the necessary response from a profession whose role is to promote dignity, care, and compassion in death and dying.
