New Bookmarks Setup

I have updated the bookmarks section of this website. It used to be a single TiddlyWiki HTML file that displayed all my bookmarks (3900+) which was easy for me to setup but didn't make sense that each visitor would be served a 5MB file just to browse my bookmarks.

I still use TiddlyWiki to store my bookmarks on my devices but I managed to export a CSV of all the bookmarks and put together a python script that converts each row into a markdown file. I then used Pelican, which is the same static site generator that I use for this blog, to create the static version to be served to the public here.

Pelican is pretty accessible if you have basic Python and HTML skills. I modified the theme I am using here, which allowed me to add a tag cloud and I am particularly proud of being able to automatically add an optional link to the internet archive for old links.
